Abbâsîler’den Mısır’da kurulan hanedanlara vezirlik müessesesi

Abstract

It is generally accepted that the vizierate emerged as a well-organised institu- tion in the Abbasid period. This institution emerged in the early Abbasid era, was developed over time and became one of the keystones of the administration. The institution of vizierate in general played an essential role during the Abbasid rule, which lasted approximately five centuries. This institution had a great influ- ence on the organisations of the Muslim states founded in this period; the states founded in Egypt, for example, the Tulunids, Ikhshidis, Fatimids, Ayyubids and Mamluks, took the Abbasid vizierate as an example for their own vizierates. This study aims to examine the vizierates of these states as a whole to establish the relationships between them and the Abbasid tradition.
