Sosyoloji teorilerinde din

Abstract

ABSTRACT In this study, the views of sociologists who paid attention and developed theories on religion are exemined. Firstly, sociologists are categorized in two ideal types: positivist and anti-positivist. Depending on this classification this study has concentrated on the religious issue accending to the methodological framework of the positivist and anti-positivist sociologies. Positivist sociologists argue that in industrial society religion should not take place in the public life. However, anti- positivist sociologists emphasize on the importance of the religion and indicate the functions of religion in their theories. Both approaches, despite their disaggrement on the functions of religion, regard that religion is related to personal life in industrial society. n
