Today's world is increasingly focused on some always-new informations, »to be up to date« is an essential fact and what is not the most extreme, is pointless. We live in a time where most people fear for the future and see the world as a bad environment. And for that, I decided for a topic related to negative news. I found out from the sources, that media is, in spite of everything, the main leader of society and the designer of our thinking. In general opinion people think that negative stories prevail in the media, but ultimately it is the audience that encourages the media to write and report in certain directions. In the teoretical part main concepts are described, related to the media, journalism and their publishings. Teoretical part includes the key factors that can affect the publication and the definition of negative news, which is important for understanding future research. In the empirical part I answer the question if negative titles prevail as exposed in the daily newspapers. I got the answer for this question through the analysis of daily newspapers. Because I am also interested in public involvement, knowledge and opinion of the media, I also conducted a survey. From the survey with locally defined, casual sample, I got answers about how much people follow media, which is the most used source, how oriented articles are more likely to be read and what relation the readers have towards the media publications.
Ker me zanima tudi vključenost, poznavanje in mnenje občinstva o medijih, sem izvedla anketo. S pomočjo ankete, s krajevno opredeljenim priložnostnim vzorcem, sem dobila odgovore, koliko ljudje spremljajo medije, kateri vir je največ uporabljen, kako naravnani prispevki so bolj brani ter kakšen odnos imajo bralci do medijskih objav.
