Socialni kapital in romi

Abstract

In the thesis authoress deals with the presence or absence of social kapital in the Roma village Hudeje and is looking for the answer to the question – Is social kapital (relations, network, integration) catalyst, that »puts« in the Roma village Hudeje also a human and cultural capital? Another objective is to determine what factors hinder the social capital of the Roma population in the village Hudeje, to also contribute their share in the social and cultural capital. The authoress of the study notes that the presence of social and cultural capital in the village Hudeje is low, both at the individual level as in the Roma community. Further notes that if the Roma from the village Hudeje wants to become socially involved they have to come together, connect and cooperate with each other. The authoress confirms the research question, that social capital is one that requires knowledge useful for life and is a key player in the integration of Roma in society. As a solution the authoress indicates the establishment of the Roma community in the village, which will have its duties and obligations to the members and the community. The importance of community is reflected in the socializing, solving common problems, adaptation and mutual assistance. Individuals and community will so obtain important information, create a relationship and expand their social network, all of which constitutes the social capital of Roma from the village Hudeje.
