Abstract

l capítulo presenta una reflexión sobre la obra de Leopoldo Zea, centrada en la temática del latinoamericanismo y la búsqueda de identidad en el contexto iberoamericano. Se analizan diez ensayos que destacan el impacto del descubrimiento de América en la construcción de la identidad cultural y racial, así como el proceso de mestización que definió a los nuevos pueblos. Zea argumenta que esta identidad no es una construcción futura, sino un hecho ya realizado que debe ser reconocido frente a prejuicios históricos. La obra enfatiza la necesidad de comprender la relación entre Iberoamérica y España a través de un prisma de fraternalidad en lugar de colonialismo. A través de su análisis, Zea invita a repensar la historia y la cultura de la región, buscando una liberación de las narrativas impuestas por las potencias coloniales
