Localization and social life are sources of inspiration for the artistry of Enderunlu Vâsıf. Vâsıf, in the influence of the style of localization, has made a large divan.In this thesis, the place and function of İstanbul in Vâsıf's poem and the ways in which it was examined and reflected in the poem are investigated. The characteristics of the life in Istanbul in Vâsıf's poetry, the elements related to the life in Istanbul, the elements associated with it are tried to be revealed through sample poems and couplets. It is also taken into consideration that divan poetry outlined the classical line and provided clues about change by giving place to the local elements in his poetryThe touristic and entertainment stops of Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire for five hundred years, their tastes and loves, the local elements that shed light on the daily life of the people are the main subjects of the study.In addition, the relationship of localization with the elements such as the traditions and beliefs in the Ottoman society, the art and the various professions, the culture of eating, the clothing and apparel, and the public works are also evaluated.Thus, in this study, the place of the life in İstanbul in divan poetry at the XVIII. century is tried to determined and clarified from the perspective of Enderunlu VAsıf 's Divan perspective.

Mahallileşme ve sosyal hayat, Enderunlu Vâsıf'ın sanatkârlığına ilham kaynağı olan bir konudur. Vâsıf, mahallileşme üslubunun tesirinde kalıp bu minvalde hacimli bir divan vücuda getirmiştir.Bu tez çalışmasında İstanbul'unVâsıf'ın şiirindeki yeri ve işlevi, hangi açılardan şiire konu edildiği ve nasıl yansıdığı araştırılmıştır. İstanbul yaşantısının Vâsıf'ın şiirinde hangi özellikleriyle yer aldığı, İstanbul yaşantısına dair unsurlar, ilişkilendirilen unsurlar örnek şiir ve beyitler yoluyla ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Şairin şiirinde yerli unsurlara sıklıkla yer vererek divan şiirinin klasik çizginin dışına çıkıp değişime dair ipuçları sunduğu ayrıca dikkate alınmıştır.Osmanlıya beş yüz yıl kadar payitahtlık yapan İstanbul'un gezinti ve eğlence yerleri, zevk ve aşkları, halkın günlük yaşantısına ışık tutan mahalli öğeler çalışmada işlenen başlıca konulardır. Bununla birlikte Osmanlı toplum hayatında var olan âdet-gelenek ve inanışlar, sanat erbâbı ve çeşitli meslekler, yeme-içme kültürü, giyim-kuşam, bayındırlık faaliyetleri gibi unsurların mahallileşme ile olan ilişkisi de değerlendirilmiştir.Böylece bu çalışmayla, İstanbul yaşantısının XVIII. yüzyıl divan şiirindeki yeri Enderunlu Vâsıf Divanı örneğinden hareketle tespit edilerek konuya açıklık getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
