Abstract

As long as solidarity economy companies take place within societies with predominantly capitalist production relations, they cannot escape the laws of that type of society. Such a reality cannot be ignored by cooperative leaders and administrators, since the production relations implicit in the programmatic objectives of the cooperative movement share a substantial contradiction with the production relations derived from private property over the means of production. For this reason, a society economically organized in the form of cooperative production ceases to be capitalist.
