Abstract

El objetivo de esta revisión es reconocer en la ortodoncia lingual una opción actual que brinda tanto al clínico como al paciente un tratamiento con bondades estéticas y biomecánicas para el tratamiento de las diferentes maloclusiones, a su vez se tiene como objetivo reconocer sus fases de tratamiento, conceptos importantes de biomecánica, ventajas de la técnica y que además pueda servir al clínico como guía para integrar esta técnica en su práctica universitaria y profesional.

La ortodoncia lingual es una técnica ortodóncica que se ha venido consolidando en los últimos años en función de responder a la demanda estética en pacientes adultos, integrando principios mecánicos y biológicos para dar respuesta a las necesidades individuales.dando información en aspectos propios de la técnica abarcando ventajas, desventajas, protocolos de cementación, técnicas de laboratorio, conformación de arcos, biomecánica, entre otros.
