University has to face the challenge of giving an answer to current mobile digital devices’ high impact socio-technological context. There is a direct relationship between the idea of ubiquitous learning and the ability of mobile devices to provide highly interconnected educational environments. This article presents the results of a qualitative research on three Spanish universities in which we analyze learning activities and benefits promoted by the use of three mobile digital devices: tablets, smartphones, and e-books. Learning processes and benefits are primarily focused on the feasibility and functionality of these devices to access learning materials, promote more interactive dialogue between students and faculty, promote the acquisition of technical skills, and improve treatment and analysis of information.
