Abstract

Müellif bu makalesinde cerh ve tadilin birbirine tercih edilip edilmemesi konu-sunu öne çıkartır. Ona göre bir hadis imamı, raviyi tenkid ederken hangi konuda cerh ve tadili tercih edeceğini iyi bilmelidir. Aksi halde örnekleri de görüleceği üzere birçok hadis âlimi bu hususta yanılmıştır. İbnü’s-Sübkî, ricale dair eserle-rinden seçtiği misallerle hocası Zehebî’yi bu çalışmasında tenkid eder. Başka muhaddislerden örnekler de verir. Onun önemle vurguladığı konu, akran âlimler arası hasedin söz konusu olabilmesidir. Kimi zaman halk bu hataya düşmektedir. Ona göre gerçek ilim ehlinin bu hususta hataya düşmemesi için geçmişte kendini ispatlamış cerh ve tadil uleması hakkında doğru bir bilgiye sahip olması gerekir. Bu sebeple gerçek âlimler hakkında suizan beslememelidir. Ravileri cerh ve tadi-le tabi tutarken ilmi edebe riayet etmelidir. Apaçık bir delil getirilmeksizin ule-manın birbirleri hakkındaki sözlerine itibar edilmemelidir.
