Mejoramiento de las propiedades físicas y mecánicas del concreto mediante la incorporación de látex de caucho natural

Abstract

Esta investigación tiene como propósito optimizar las propiedades del concreto (físicas y mecánicas) a través de la incorporación de latex de caucho natural. La variable independiente es este estudio es la latex de caucho natural, mientras que la variable dependiente abarca las características del concreto en su etapa de estado fresco (peso unitario, el asentamiento, contenido de aire y temperatura), y en su fase de estado endurecido (que incluye la resistencia a la compresión, tracción, flexión, módulo de elasticidad y durabilidad ante sulfatos). Para realizar la evaluación, se añadió latex de caucho natural proveniente del árbol Hevea Brasiliensis en tres porcentajes en relación al peso del cemento: 0.5%, 1% y 3%. Se fabricaron probetas, cilíndricas, vigas y prismas para examinar las propiedades mecánicas del concreto. Se concluyo que la adición del 1% de latex mejoro las propiedades concreto, logrando un asentamiento de 3.5” pulgadas, un peso unitario de 2340.3 kg/m3, temperatura de 26.4 °C, un contenido de aire de 1.70% y una resistencia a la compresión de 269.08 kg/cm2 a los 28 días. Además, la resistencia a la tracción fue de 23 kg/cm2, mientras que la resistencia a la flexión alcanzo 35. 60 kg/cm2, en el módulo de elasticidad de 142788.333 kg/cm3 y la razón poisson fue de 0.0996. y para la durabilidad frente a sulfatos, las expansiones fueron inferiores a las del concreto patrón.

Is natural rubber latex, while the dependent variable includes the characteristics of the concrete in its fresh state (unit weight, slump, air content, and temperature), and in its hardened state (which includes compressive strength, tensile strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, and durability against sulfates). To perform the evaluation, natural rubber latex from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree was added in three percentages relative to the weight of the cement: 0.5%, 1%, and 3%. Cylindrical specimens, beams, and prisms were manufactured to examine the concrete's mechanical properties. It was concluded that the addition of 1% latex improved the concrete properties, achieving a slump of 3.5 inches, a unit weight of 2340.3 kg/m³, a temperature of 26.4 °C, an air content of 1.70%, and a compressive strength of 269.08 kg/cm² at 28 days. In addition, the tensile strength was 23 kg/cm², while the flexural strength reached 35.60 kg/cm², the modulus of elasticity was 142788.333 kg/cm³, and the Poisson's ratio was 0.0996. For durability against sulfates, the expansions were lower than those of the control concrete.
