The research focused on evaluating the impact of replacing part of the coarse aggregate with Tecnopor in different proportions (5%, 10% and 15%) on the properties of the concrete. Various characteristics were analyzed in fresh and hardened states, including slump, unit weight, compressive strength, flexural strength, modulus of elasticity, and Poisson's ratio. A clear decrease in unit weight was observed as the replacement percentage increased, suggesting a possible structural advantage in terms of weight reduction. Although slump values exceeded 3 inches, the modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio remained within acceptable ranges. Furthermore, a comparative analysis was carried out with laboratory experimental data to support the findings. Proposal 1, which represents standard concrete, exhibited a total seismic mass of 72.7696 tns2/m and a seismic mass of 0.9393 Tn/m2. A symmetry approach was chosen to improve torsional irregularities through the use of plates, achieving a mass participation in the main axes of 0.76% in ux, 0.75% in uy and 0.74% in RZ. The static shear stress was higher than that of Proposal 2 due to the greater seismic mass. On the other hand, Proposal 2, which incorporates 15% Tecnopor in the concrete, presented a total seismic mass of 68.85 tn-s2/m and a seismic mass of 0.88 Tn/m2. The symmetry approach was maintained with the use of plates to improve the system and a mass participation in principal axes of 0.7606% in ux, 0.7457% in uy and 0.741% in RZ was achieved. The static shear stress was lower than in Proposal 1 due to the reduction in seismic mass.
