In recent decades, advancements in architecture and urbanism have led to significant changes in the way cities are planned and organized, driving new ideas and solutions for urban spaces. These changes have resulted in the modernization of various environments, promoting adaptability and sustainability. However, the design of educational institutions has remained static in the face of these advancements. Despite progress in other areas, educational institutions still retain architectural elements that do not meet the new pedagogical, social, or urban demands. In this context, the present document focuses on analyzing these elements and their impact, considering both formal and informal urban contexts. The Augusto Salazar Bondy School, located in the western sector of the city of Chiclayo, is used as a case study for this analysis. The research examines the urban and architectural characteristics of the Augusto Salazar Bondy School in three stages: first, analyzing the urban-architectural relationship between the school and its surrounding sector; second, studying the school's urban and social context to identify opportunities for integration; and third, reviewing urban cohesion strategies applied in similar contexts. The analysis includes direct observation to record key characteristics of the school and its environment, documentary evaluation through the review of plans, regulations, and previous studies, as well as field visits to collect visual and social evidence for data validation. The findings reveal a fragmented environment with isolated dynamics, highlighting the need to propose urban-architectural strategies that foster interactions and promote urban cohesion.
