Abstract

The soils of Chiclayo are variable, most of them are soils with low bearing capacities, so the purpose of evaluating the influence of sea sand on clay subgrades was born. The methodology was experimental, quantitative, descriptive and applied. The purpose of the study was to stabilize the soil using sea sand, in order to improve physical-mechanical properties of a clay subgrade with low support capacity. For this, conventional and modified samples were taken with three additions of sea sand in proportions 0.15%, 0.20% and 0.25%. It is well known that if the bearing capacity of a soil (CBR) exceeds 6%, it is not necessary to stabilize or improve it, and according to the results determined, the conventional average CBR was 3.94%, while for the experimental ones it was 7.44%. (1st ad.), 8.11% (2nd ad.) and 8.83% (3rd ad.). The soil on Av. Huáscar of the DJLO needs stabilization, which is why this experimental process was adapted, which made it possible to provide a technical-economic solution in terms of the profitability of soil stabilization with sea sand, the third addition being, with better structural response compared to a conventional one, whose cost per m2 is S/.37.21 (1.17% less than the conventional one), which, when evaluated as a test section, a compaction of 84.40%, this being optimal for construction with a probabilistic development trend of 11.11%.
