Abstract

El objetivo del estudio es determinar los conocimientos en estudiantes de enfermería de una universidad privada sobre el cepillado dental en infantes. Chiclayo, 2022. El estudio fue cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal, observacional. Participaron 96 estudiantes de la escuela de enfermería de la Universidad Católica Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo (USAT), pertenecientes al octavo, noveno y décimo ciclo. Se utilizó un cuestionario virtual de 20 preguntas, con categorías de respuesta diferentes en cada pregunta en donde fueron categorizadas de la siguiente manera: Puntuación 14-20: Bueno; puntuación 7-13: Regular y puntuación 0-6: Malo. El estudio fue aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación de la Facultad de Medicina (USAT). Se realizó una prueba piloto con 20 estudiantes con el propósito de validar el instrumento, determinar la confiabilidad y evaluar procedimientos del estudio. Se obtuvo una confiabilidad de 0.85 mediante la prueba Kuder Richardson y una estabilidad temporal de 0.81 mediante la prueba T-Student. Se obtuvo que, respecto al nivel de conocimiento, predomina el nivel bueno con 52.1%. Concluyendo que en el nivel conocimiento en estudiantes de enfermería sobre el cepillado dental en infantes, prevalece el nivel bueno, respecto al grupo etario, sexo, y ciclo de estudios no presenta un valor estadísticamente significativo.
