Letalidad en odontólogos diagnosticados con COVID-19, Perú 2020

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue estimar la letalidad de odontólogos diagnosticados con Covid-19, Perú 2020. El estudio tiene un enfoque cuantitativo, con nivel descriptivo, diseño observacional de tipo retrospectivo, transversal y descriptivo. Se estudió la información de los registros del Fondo de Previsión Social (FPS) del Colegio Odontológico del Perú (COP), de los meses julio y octubre, relacionado con odontólogos peruanos diagnosticados y fallecidos – covid-19, en el Perú del año 2020, reagrupándose en las tres regiones naturales del Perú (Costa, Sierra y Selva) de los meses de julio y octubre. Se analizó la información con la prueba de Z, después de hallar las letalidades respectivas y frecuencias. Se encontró una letalidad nacional en el mes de julio del 10 % debido a los 157 casos de odontólogos positivos al Covid-19 y 16 defunciones; sin embargo, en el mes de octubre se registró una letalidad del 11% ya que los casos ascendieron a 384 casos positivos, y 44 defunciones. Así mismo no se encontró diferencias en las frecuencias de odontólogos que se encontraban en UCI, en los meses de julio y octubre.
