DİJİTALLEŞME SÜRECİNDE TÜRKİYE’DE E-TİCARET

Abstract

Digital transformation is considered a technological revolution for all countries and causes some uncertainties. When countries analyze these uncertainties well, they can create an opportunity from this. The use of technological tools has given rise to different production methods and consumption habits. Countries have successfully used artificial intelligence, autonomous vehicles, data analytics, the Internet of Things and cloud technologies to increase their market shares and improve their competitiveness. In order to evaluate the digitalization process in Turkey, the Turkey Digital Society Index (TDTE) was created by BETAM for the years 2004-2021 and the Turkey Digital Transformation Index was created by TUBİSAD for the years 2019-2022. In addition to these two indices, Tuş and others also used an alternative method to calculate Turkey's digital transformation index for the years 2019-2021. E-commerce, which has been rapidly increasing its market share since 1995, has become more popular with the population growth, the development of alternative payment systems in internet shopping and the strengthening of the infrastructure of logistics systems. In this study, where the status of e-commerce in Turkey was analyzed for the years 2004-2023 with the development of digitalization in parallel with the development of the Internet, it was observed that the use of e-commerce was constantly increasing.
