We debated on religious life from Tanzimat Period to Cumhuriyet Period and we generated a cognitive frame with studying an connection between religion and society in Cumhuriyet Period. We started to this study with main problem; how the relations between religion and society can be reflected on the literature and we accepted Refik Halid Karay's novel, Kadınlar Tekkesi which reflects early Cumhuriyet Period, as an example of this study. After we analyzed Kadınlar Tekkesi through the relations between religion and society, we saw that relations between religion and society had been reflected on literary texts in Cumhuriyet Period, also, this relationship had started a kind of reformation about religion on society, created different occurence of religion via sacred experiences. Also, we saw that religion had been instrumentalized according to our perspective.Key Words: Sociology of Religion, Turkish Novel, Kadınlar Tekkesi, Religion and Literature, Refik Halid Karay.

Bu çalışmada; Türk romanın gelişimi hakkında bilgi verilerek edebiyatın din ve toplum ilişkilerine teması üzerinde durulmuştur. Tanzimat Dönemi'nden Cumhuriyet Dönemi'ne dinî hayat tartışma konusu yapılmış, Cumhuriyet Dönemi'ndeki din ve toplum ilişkileri irdelenerek kavramsal bir çerçeve oluşturulmuştur. Din ve toplum ilişkilerinin edebiyata nasıl yansıdığı temel probleminden yola çıkılarak Refik Halid Karay'ın, erken Cumhuriyet Dönemi'ni yansıtan Kadınlar Tekkesi romanı araştırmanın örneklemi olarak belirlenmiştir. Kadınlar Tekkesi'ni din ve toplum ilişkileri merkezinde inceledikten sonra edebiyat-din ilişkiselliğinden hareketle Cumhuriyet Dönemi din ve toplum ilişkilerinin edebî metinlerde, din ve siyaset arasındaki ilişkinin toplumda dinin yeniden inşa sürecini başlattığı, bireylerin kutsal tecrübelerinin farklı dinî oluşumları meydana getirdiği ve bu çerçevede dinin yerine göre araçsallaştırıldığı görülmüştür.Anahtar kelimeler: Din Sosyolojisi, Türk Romanı, Kadınlar Tekkesi, Din ve Edebiyat, Refik Halid Karay.
