Abstract

Haritalar, genel olarak konuma ilişkin problemlerin çözümünde ve gerçek dünya hakkında bilgilerin elde edilmesinde kullanılan görsel iletişim araçlarıdır. Gerçek dünyanın genelleştirilmiş modeli olan haritalar; yeryüzündeki coğrafik objeler arasındaki konum, yükseklik, yön, uzaklık, yapı, şekil, yoğunluk ve konumsal ilişki gibi bilgileri ortaya koymaktadır. Günümüzde yaygın bir kullanım alanına sahip olan CBS yardımıyla haritalandırma çalışmaları da yeni bir boyut kazanmıştır. Yaşadığımız bilgiye dayalı dijital çağda, mekâna bağlı işlemler ve analizlerin yapılmasında ve yönetilmesinde CBS büyük faydalar sağlamaktadır. Teknolojinin gelişmesi ile beraber coğrafi depolama araçları olan haritaların CBS tabanlı olarak üretilmesi sayesinde çalışmak istediğimiz alana ve amaca yönelik katmanları içinde barındıran haritalar kolayca yönetilebilir, paylaşılabilir ve uygulama üretilerek herkes için her an ve her yerden kullanılabilir hale getirilebilir.
