Tokat/Niksar Yakınçağ İskeletlerinin Antropolojik Analizi

Abstract

Mankind has undergone many changes in terms of biocultural aspects in the phase of transition from hunter-gatherers to agriculture society. Especially, the changes that have lived from the past day-to-day are exposed under the light of archaeological and anthropological observation in the transition to agricultural societies. It has been defined many periods that are changed as regional from the Neolithic period that is known the beginning of the transition of agricultural societies to the present day. Modern period is also one of these definitions. According to historians, the Modern Age, which began with the currents that the French Revolution influenced, is a period that continues until the present day.In this study, 26 male (%37,68), 18 women (%26,09), 25 gender that could not be determined (%36,23) have been identified within the population that has minimum 69 individuals who have been analysed from femur bones. This study includes paleodemographic and morphological studies on the skeletons extracted including gender, age, height, biometric characters and unmeasured characters from the Tokat / Niksar region dated to the Middle Ages. All these studies were collected as anthropological analysis and compared with other contemporary societies that are studied.
