Moda ve postmodernizm

Abstract

Post-modernism, can be defined as changes that have been experienced in a period extending from the 1960s totoday in which the consequences of nıodernism have been discussed, questioned and criticized. During thisperiod, remarkable and diverse changes have taken place around the world in the fields of politics, economics, ideas and culture.Fashion is closely related to humans and society. The basic motive behind fashion is to exist as an inclividualand belong to a specific social group. One of the most remarkable properties of post-modern culture is the competition between and the complexity ofclothing codes and styles. The quality of fabrics, decorations, colors, silhouettes, and especially stylistic trendsdemonstrates, in comparison to the age, an unequalled clarity and diversity in a vast array of articles of clothing.Youth styles in postmodern culture usually combine clothing with dance and life style and are a symbol ofrebellion against the established order.
