Transfuguismo político en Costa Rica: una reflexión exploratoria a nivel legislativo y municipal

Abstract

El transfuguismo es una práctica que se ha reflejado de manera importante en diversos países y que ha ido en incremento en las últimas décadas. La misma se refiere al “comportamiento de una persona que, habiendo sido elegida para su cargo en función de la adscripción a un determinado partido político, decide cambiar de opción partidista sin renunciar al cargo que desempeña” (Vanaclocha y Lorenzo, 2012); Costa Rica no es la excepción. Tanto a nivel de Asamblea Legislativa como en las alcaldías municipales este fenómeno es cada vez más común y natural, presentando importantes desafíos los cuales es menester abordar. El mismo invita a considerar el fenómeno de las lealtades partidarias y de la desideologización así como las actuales prácticas políticas en las cuales incurren los diversos actores políticos designados en cargos de elección popular.
