Acciones colectivas en Costa Rica 2000-2003

Abstract

El presente informe de investigación busca responder a la pregunta ¿Cuáles son los principales actores, demandas y modalidades de la protesta social en Costa Rica en los últimos años? Para responder a este cuestionamiento, el análisis que se expone a continuación busca describir las principales características de las acciones colectivas en el periodo que comprende los años 2000-2003. El periodo analizado abarca tan solo cuatro años, siendo éste un lapso reducido en comparación con el resto de las investigaciones que se realizan en el marco del Décimo Informe del Estado de la Nación en Desarrollo Humano Sostenible (2004). Esto se debe a la imposibilidad de abarcar un periodo más extenso, con el tiempo y los recursos disponibles. Estas limitantes impiden contestar a la pregunta más amplia, cual era ¿Han cambiado las modalidades, demandas y los actores vinculados con las acciones colectivas de protesta social en Costa Rica durante los últimos años?, dado que el periodo analizado imposibilita el análisis de tendencias de largo plazo.
