Efecto del bicarbonato de sodio sobre la producción de leche en vacas Holstein.

Abstract

Se utilizaron 12 vacas Holstein en la parte media de su lactancia en un diseño de sobrecambio balanceado en dos períodos durante 54 días. Las vacas recibieron como alimentación básica ensilaje de avena en estabulación permanente y se distribuyeron en tres tratamientos de cuatro animales cada uno, así: ensilaje sin adición, ensilaje más 0.75 por ciento de bicarbonato de sodio por kg de materia seca y ensilaje más l.25 por ciento de bicarbonato de sodio por kg de materia seca. El consumo diario de ensilaje de avena no mostró diferencias significativas entre tratamientos. Las ganancias diarias de peso fueron negativas en todos los tratamientos incluído el control. La producción diaria de leche fué de 11,7,11,43,12,78 kg/vaca, respectivamente. Entre los tratamientos control, 0.75 por ciento y 1.25 por ciento de bicarbonato de sodio en la dieta. La diferencia entre la producción observada en el testigo y en el tratamiento de 1.25 por ciento de aditivo, aunque no fué significativa, presentó un 9.2 por ciento de incremento por el efecto del aditivo. Este efecto, en términos económicos representó un ingreso adicional de {dollar}6.43 por vaca/dia
