La formación de maestros en activo de educación infantil: análisis y percepción del desarrollo del pensamiento geométrico

Abstract

Numerosos trabajos de investigación han puesto de manifiesto la importancia de analizar las competencias de los profesores sobre las matemáticas y, en particular la geometría; siendo escasas las investigaciones sobre la educación matemática en infantil, y siendo la formación del profesorado de Matemáticas un área de interés en la investigación en Educación Matemática. Como consecuencia, esta investigación plantea la recogida de información de la percepción de los conocimientos y creencias de los maestros en activo en un centro educativo de titularidad concertada de la Comunidad de Madrid en el área de la geometría. Para ello, se utiliza una adaptación del cuestionario del modelo de Shavelson y Stern (1981) incluyendo diversas variables acerca de la enseñanza-aprendizaje de la Geometría. Se realiza una análisis descriptivo de los datos recogidos, cuyos resultados evidencian la necesidad de ampliar la formación de los docentes de educación infantil en activo en el área de la geometría para mejorar su dominio en la materia, pudiendo abordarla de manera más competencial con sus alumnos.
