Faglig refleksjon i motejournalistikken

Abstract

Motejournalistikken blir ofte omtalt som useriøs og uten substans. Noen retter pekefingeren mot tette bånd mellom annonsører, PR-byråer og designere, og stempler motejournalistikken som ukritisk. Andre ser kanskje ikke sammenhengen mellom faglig refleksjon og kjøpetips for sommerens tilbehør. Samtidig utgjør moteindustrien den femte største industrien i verden. Den representerer ikke bare en enorm kulturell kapital, men er også en viktig økonomisk drivkraft. Moten markerte starten på den industrielle revolusjonen, og er en vesentlig del av vår moderne kultur. Dette gjør at moten påvirker alle mennesker, selv også de som fraskriver seg den. Med bakgrunn fra både motedesign og journalistikk føles det naturlig å se på den faglige tilknytningen mellom dem.
