Abstract

I denne bacheloroppgaven – Likestilling i det multikulturelle klasserom – vil temaet omhandle hvordan lærere forholder seg til sentrale styringsdokumenter for å kunne fremme et positivt likestillingsperspektiv. Problemstillingen lyder derfor; Hvordan fremme likestilling i et multikulturelt klasserom når kompetansemålene i læreplanen for samfunnsfag er så vage? Likestillingsbegrepet definert av FN har mange ulike faktorer som for eksempel kjønn, hudfarge, språk, seksuell orientering og alder. I denne oppgaven vil likestillingsbegrepet ha hovedsakelig fokus på likestilling mellom kjønn – men ut ifra et fokus på det multikulturelle klasserom vil andre faktorer som etnisitet, religion og språk også være aktuelle. Teorien er basert på faglitteratur av Theo Koritzinsky, nasjonale styringsdokumenter i grunnopplæringen og en forskningsbasert evalueringsrapport fra 2010 som tok utgangspunkt i Kunnskapsdepartementets Handlingsplan for likestilling i barnehage og grunnopplæring 2008 - 2010. Til min egen forskning ble intervju med intervjuguide brukt som metode. Resultatet av intervjuene, drøftet med faglitteratur og annen forskning, viser likestilling generelt får liten oppmerksomhet i skolehverdagen og at likestilling stort sett bare blir fremmet når det er på pensum.
