Katechizm Kościoła Katolickiego

Abstract

Na początku mamy syntetyczną historię Katechizmu Kościoła Katolickiego. Mimo wcześniejszych głosów, konieczność opracowania Katechizmu zasugerował wyraźnie kard. Bernard Law w trakcie obrad Nadzwyczajnego Synodu Biskupów w 1985 r., zwołanego z okazji dwudziestolecia Soboru Watykańskiego II. Dwunastoosobowa Komisja ds. Katechizmu została powołana przez Jana Pawła II dnia 10 lipca 1986 r. Na czele komisji stanął kard. J. Ratzinger. Rozkupowano go szybko na całym świecie. Stał się źródłem katechezy i stałym punktem odniesienia dla nowych dokumentów katechetycznych i katechizmów lokalnych. At the outset we have a synthetic history of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Despite earlier voices, the need for a Catechism was clearly suggested by Cardinal Bernard Law during the Extraordinary Synod of Bishops in 1985, convened on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. A 12-member Commission on the Catechism was appointed by Pope John Paul II on 10 July 1986, with Cardinal J. Ratzinger at the head of the commission. The draft Catechism was consulted between 1989 and 1990 with more than 4,000 bishops, more than 100 Bishops' Conferences and the most important theological and catechetical institutes in the world. During this time, 938 responses were received suggesting more than 24,000 amendments. After nine successive attempts to put the text together, the Commission completed it on 14 February 1992. After examination by papal advisors, it was approved by the Pope on 25 June 1992. It was published on 11 October 1992, the 29th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council, as the fruit of that great ecclesiastical gathering. It is the first Catechism to have undergone worldwide consultation. It has become an instrument of ecclesial communion. It has certainly become a market "event". It was rapidly being bought up all over the world. It has become a source for catechesis and a constant reference for new catechetical documents and local catechisms.
