The research problem undertaken in this paper pertains to the interdependence between perceiving the situation of injustice, motivation to forgive the transgressor, and the time perspective of the person being wronged. There were 590 persons in the age of 25 to 35 years old, who participated in this study. The main subject of analysis included two situations of wrongdoing: in the first, the relationship with the transgressor was valuable for the person being wronged, while the transgressor acted with premeditation and did not show contrition; in the second, the relationship with the wrongdoer was not valuable for the person being wronged, while the transgressor acted with premeditation and did not show contrition. The results of this study reaffirmed the main hypothesis suggesting the moderating impact of the time perspective on the interdependence between perceiving the value of the relationship with the transgressor and the motivation to forgive. The negative perspective of the future, as was predicted, moderated the interdependence between perceiving the value of the relationship with the transgressor, who acted with premeditation and did not show any contrition, and the motivation to forgive. The concentration on the negative perspective of the future increased the positive interdependence between perceiving the value of the relationship with the transgressor and the willingness to reestablish the relationship with the wrongdoer, despite the awareness of being wronged and the negative feelings connected with this experience.

Problem badawczy podejmowany w pracy dotyczy zależności między postrzeganiem sytuacji krzywdy, motywacją do przebaczenia sprawcy oraz perspektywą czasową osoby skrzywdzonej. W badaniach uczestniczyło w sumie 590 osób w okresie wczesnej dorosłości w wieku 25-35 lat. Głównym przedmiotem analiz były dwie sytuacje krzywdy: sytuacja, w której relacja ze sprawcą była wartościowa dla osoby skrzywdzonej, sprawca działał z premedytacją i nie wyraził skruchy oraz sytuacja, w której relacja ze sprawcą była małowartościowa dla osoby skrzywdzonej, sprawca działał z premedytacją i nie wyraził skruchy. Uzyskane wyniki potwierdziły główną hipotezę, dotyczącą moderującego wpływu perspektywy czasowej na zależność pomiędzy postrzeganiem wartości relacji ze sprawcą krzywdy, a motywacją do przebaczenia. Zgodnie z przewidywaniami perspektywa negatywna przyszłościowa moderowała zależność między postrzeganiem wartości relacji ze sprawcą, który wyrządził krzywdę z premedytacją i nie okazał żadnej skruchy, a motywacją do przebaczenia. Koncentracja na negatywnie postrzeganej przyszłości nasilała dodatnią zależność między postrzeganiem wartości relacji ze sprawcą a chęcią ponownego nawiązania relacji ze sprawcą, pomimo świadomości skrzywdzenia i negatywnych odczuć związanych z doświadczoną krzywdą.
