Abstract

Pointing at genre model features of a hunting handbook with consideration of cultural, pragmatic, stylistic, and cultural aspects is the subject of this article. 16th and 17th century texts were put into analysis. The carried out analysis reveals that pragmatic aspect is the most significant as far as genre model of the Old Polish hunting handbook is concerned. This aspect reveals itself in the updated illocution potential of the act of giving advice: subsequent elements of the polar structure of the model refer to structural and stylistic contexts. It means that grater variety of textual realizations of the model is possible within the scope of structure all the more style. It should be remembered that it is the cultural context that determines all other aspects of the genre model of the Old Polish hunting handbooks. The then, patronized by rhetorics and pre-scientific (popular) way of world perception, culture, which was also familiar with other functional varieties (not really specified) of the language, influenced the ways of expressing the sending-receiving instances, structural and stylistic solutions variety.
