Pulgones del duraznero y del ciruelo Brachycaudus helichrysi, B. persicae, B. schwartzi

Abstract

El género Brachycaudus agrupa a varias especies de pulgones que afectan a los frutales de carozo. Las características de las especies más comunes en Cuyo se describen aquí: B. persicae (pulgón negro del duraznero): los huevos ocurren raramente; recién colocados son verdes amarillentos; luego, negros brillantes. Alcanzan 0,5 mm de longitud y tienen forma ovoidal. Las ninfas son de color pardo cuando recién nacidas, similares a los adultos, pero más pequeñas y sin alas. Los adultos presentan forma ovoide, cuerpo grueso, con sifones negros y cauda (cola) pequeña, corta y redondeada. El tamaño varía entre 1,5 y 2,2 mm. Las hembras, tanto las ápteras como las aladas, son vivíparas, de color oscuro, con el dorso del abdomen negro brillante. Poseen antenas casi tan largas como el cuerpo.
