2015 Ciudad Futura: horizonte del plan regulador de 1930

Abstract

En 1930, en el marco de los festejos del centenario, el equipo formado por Cravotto, De los Campos, Tournier, Puente, Ricaldoni y Michellini le entrega al Consejo Departamental, el Anteproyecto de Plan Regulador de Montevideo. Estudio de urbanización central y regional. La propuesta plantea un imaginario futuro de la ciudad que se proyecta temporalmente hasta 2015, momento en el que, siguiendo las explosivas tasas de crecimiento demográfico de principios de siglo xx, la ciudad alcanzaría los tres millones de habitantes. Esta fecha es entonces pretexto para revisar retrospectivamente la propuesta del Plan Regulador y analizar críticamente las ideas, teorías, instrumentos e imágenes con las que abordaron la construcción de un mundo futuro. Mirar con sentido histórico a quiénes anticipadamente nos miraron.
