Abstract

El artículo trata sobre la enfermedad del Dengue y el control que se lleva a cabo contra el mosquito Aedes Aegypti, principal vector que transmite esta enfermedad. Destaca la importancia del buen funcionamiento del Programa de Control y Erradicación del Aedes Aegypti en la Atención Primaria de Salud en Cuba, para evitar las pérdidas de vidas humanas y el impacto negativo que ocasionarían en el desarrollo socioeconómico del país. De igual modo se advierte, cómo las acciones de promoción, prevención y control por parte del equipo básico de salud, el trabajador de la campaña y nuestra población en general logran disminuir el índice de infección del vector. A esto se le añade la rápida toma de decisiones, el esfuerzo y la voluntad política gubernamental que hace sostenible este programa.

This article is on Dengue sickness and the control undertaken against Aedes Aegypti mosquito, main transmitter agent of this illness. It deals with the importance of the essential functioning of Aedes Aegypti control in Health Primary Assistance in Cuba, aimed at avoiding human death as well as the negative impact in the socioeconomical development of the country. It is also suggested how promotion, prevention and control actions on the part of a specialized health staff, the campaign workers and our people with a cooperative work make possible a decrease of the infection rate. It is very important to take into consideration the decision-making, the efforts and the will of our government to make this program worthwhile.

A importância da correta operação do controle de programa e de erradicação do Aedes Aegypti, (principal vetor de transmissão da dengue) em Cuidados de Saúde Primários em Cuba se destaca. O bom funcionamento do programa evita a perda de vidas humanas e causaria impacto negativo no desenvolvimento socioeconômico do país. Da mesma forma adverte, como as ações de promoção, prevenção e controlo por parte da equipe de saúde básicos, o trabalhador campanha e nossa população em geral conseguiu reduzir a taxa de vector infestação. A isto se acrescenta a tomada rápida de decisão, esforço e vontade política do nosso governo que faz este programa sustentável.
