La polilla de las ciruelas

Abstract

El adulto es una pequeña mariposa que en reposo mide aproximadamente 1 cm. Sus alas son de color gris cenizaoscuro con diversos dibujos, destacando una mancha cenicienta. Los huevos recién puestos tienen forma de pequeña gotita traslúcida de aproximadamente 1mm que la hembra deposita de forma aislada sobre los frutos del ciruelo. En la última fase de madurez del huevo éste se oscurece correspondiendo a la cabeza de la pequeña oruga que se encuentra en su interior. Las orugas en sus primeros estadios son blanquecinas o amarillo claro, llegando a medir hasta 12 mm. En sus últimos estadios, L5, toman un color rosado característico.
