Determinación de la actividad bactericida y fungicida in vitro del Ageratum Conyzoides L.

Abstract

El presente estudio evalúa la actividad bactericida de extractos obtenidos de la planta A. Conyzoides L. sobre las bacterias Escherichia Coli y Staphylococcus aureus, y la actividad fungicida sobre el hongo Candida guillermondii. La planta se recolectó en la zona rural del municipio de San Pedro de los Milagros, Antioquia, Colombia. La identificación taxonómica fue realizada en el herbario de la Universidad de Antioquia. Se colectó la parte aérea de la planta y se le deshidrató por secado por convección a temperatura ambiente. Se realizaron extracciones usando los solventes acetato de etilo, hexano y etanol. Se realizó la prueba de sensibilidad In vitro, determinando que los organismos S. aureus, E. coli y C. guillermondii presentaron nula sensibilidad a los extractos. A partir de estos resultados se puede profundizar en otros estudios y métodos que revelen actividad con el uso de otros solventes y a otras concentraciones del extracto.
