Abstract

194 f. To intervene in a field such as this is to create the desire to change and/or to participate in a desired change. It's not possible to transform a community without this transformation happening within each person who belongs to it. This study, with affinities with the Investigation-Action methodology, is a note of the awareness that “Changing is difficult but [also that] it is possible” . As background we have a society ruled by a globalized capitalism, where we know deregulated wealth to coexist with “citizens” (?) who are subject to various forms of exclusion, in contexts of multiple complexities. In this paper people narrate real, live stories; capture effects of several forms of discrimination; externalize feelings as deep as the injuries of injustice, but also give voice to thoughts and dare to dream. People talk, read and write without fear of using words. These are people who have already risked everything, who are among the most vulnerable, and who, more than living in contexts of risk, experience situations of multiple forms of exclusion. This paper presents the result of an investigation and an intervention that aspire, on the one hand, to the acquisition of a deeper knowledge about how those people interweave these forms of exclusion and, on the other hand, to show some potentialities of an action negotiated with the “community” (?) being studied. The investigation and the intervention performed intend, in a way, to be a contribution to the empowerment of people who are subject to multiple forms of exclusion.
