Urban open green areas are the most important component of urban planning. A city's ability to live in a philosophy that is compatible with ecological principles and takes into account natural processes depends on the correct planning of open green areas. Cities, which are shown as the main reason for the global warming we are experiencing today, are trying to produce very different solutions to the problem. One of these solutions is the approach that open green areas in cities can be carbon storage areas. In this study, scientific studies conducted to reveal the effect of urban open green areas on carbon storage have been compiled. In the light of the obtained data, suggestions have been developed regarding the planning and design of urban open green areas.
