Abstract

Nel contributo di Giorgio Marcello e Fabrizio Mandreoli su “centro/periferia” si possono scorgere due accenti. Il primo, sul versante dell’analisi sociale, pone attenzione alle dinamiche presenti nella società contemporanea in cui i rapporti tra esseri umani nella comunità si articolano attorno alla reciprocità e redistribuzione. Se questi si indeboliscono la società si sgretola, generando una minoranza al centro e una maggioranza di esclusi alle periferie. In un contesto di diseguaglianze responsabilità della politica è promuovere capabilities, consentendo ad ogni persona diritti sociali effettivi per poter esercitare la propria libertà e fruire di opportunità nel fare e nell’essere. Questa possibilità è frutto di un impegno sociale che conduce a rigenerare tessitura di comunità nelle periferie dove si accumulano le vite di scarto. Il secondo accento riprende l’invito di papa Francesco rivolto alla chiesa ad uscire verso le periferie esistenziali.
