1. A technique has been developed for the transplantation of the whole thyroid into the Lindbergh pump, and its perfusion, without the occurrence of infection, emboli, and other complications. 2. The gland remains alive during the period of perfusion, which lasted from 3 to 21 days. 3. The technique is simple enough to be used as a routine procedure for physiological or pathological studies of the thyroid gland.
