Skiferspisser i Sør-Norge - en typologisk komparasjon

Abstract

Denne studien har tatt sikte på å avdekke forskjeller og likheter i skiferspissenes morfologi i Sør-Norge, og å se på hvordan disse variasjonene kan reflektere regionale mønstre og kronologisk utvikling. Det ble gjennom ulike komparative analyser konkludert med at selv om materialet fulgte overregionale kronologiske mønstre, var det mulig å registrere regionale typologiske særpreg ved ulike typografiske soner. Den generelle kronologiske tendensen er at skiferspissmaterialet går fra typer som er små i størrelse og gjerne er bladformet til typer med parallelle sidekanter og et rombisk tverrsnitt. Disse rombiske typene har gjerne rette eller hengende agnorer (mothaker) på høyfjellet og ingen agnorer langs kysten. Materialet synes å ha en heterogen karakter, med mange ulike typer, i de tidlige fasene av tidligneolitikum, mens bildet virker mer homogent utover mellomneolitikum da skiferbruken kulminerer.
