
The indirect fluorescent antibody technique was used for the detection of antibodies to Borrelia anserina in chicken serum. Sera from immunised and convalescent chickens, following experimental infection, gave specific fluorescence, whereas no such reaction could be observed with sera of healthy chickens with no history of the disease. This technique was also used in preliminary tests of two isolates with respect to strain differences.
