
One hundred and eighty-six patients, aged 42-75 years, with chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency of the brain stem were studied using registration of spinal-bulbar and wink reflexes. The characteristics of neurophysiological methods were compared to MRI data. The results obtained suggest the presence of anticipating development of the neurophysiological changes comparing to the neuroimaging signs. The practical significance of this situation in view of cost-effectiveness of both methods is highlighted.
