We present the results obtained during a red tide event in the Chone river estuary and the variable physical, chemical, plankton and stomach contents. It is considered that the red tide was caused by Scripsiella trochoidea and would have had toxic characteristics and mortality chuhueco Cetengraulis mysticetus, have been the result of decrease in oxygen would have caused the algal growth.
