NUEVOS REGISTROS DE MACROALGAS MARINAS PARA CUBA

Abstract

De muestras colectadas en agosto de 2006 en varios puntos de la bahía de Cienfuegos, se registraron seis nuevos hallazgos de macroalgas marinas para Cuba, cuatro rodofíceas: Gelidiella sanctarum Feldmann et Hamel, Gelidiopsis variabilis (Grev. ex J. Agardh) F. Schmitz, Gracilaria flabelliformis (P. Crouan et H. Crouan) Fredericq et Gurgel subsp. flabelliformis y G. pauciramosa (N. Rodr. Ríos) Bellorín, M.C. Oliveira et E.C. Oliveira, y dos clorofíceas: Cladophora dalmatica Kützing y C. sericea (Hudson) Kützing. G. pauciramosa se registra por primera vez para las Antillas. En el presente trabajo se ofrecen además comentarios sobre la biogeografía, taxonomía y ecología de las mencionadas especies.

Six new macroalgae are added to Cuban marine flora, all collected in many coastal samplings from the Cienfuegos Bay. Four are rhodoficeans: Gelidiella sanctarum Feldmann et Hamel, Gelidiopsis variabilis (Grev. ex J. Agardh) F. Schmitz, Gracilaria flabelliformis (P. Crouan et H. Crouan) Fredericq et Gurgel subsp. flabelliformis and G. pauciramosa (N. Rodr. Ríos) Bellorín, M.C. Oliveira et E.C. Oliveira, and two are chloroficeans: Cladophora dalmatica Kützing and C. sericea (Hudson) Kützing. G. pauciramosa represents a new record for the Antilles. Comments about biogeography, taxonomy and ecology of the involved taxa are also offered in the paper.
