Abstract

La actividad extractiva en la zona norte es desarrollada por la flota industrial y artesanal que abastecen a dos empresas pesqueras, una con plantas en los puertos de Arica, Iquique y Mejillones y la otra solo con planta en Iquique. La actividad registra en esta última década los desembarques promedio más bajos (625 mil t).
