Estructura de tallas de la ictiofauna en la pesquería de camarón en el Golfo de Ana María, plataforma suroriental de Cuba.

Abstract

Se analizan las variaciones en las tallas de las principales especies de peces que componen la fauna acompañante del camarón en la porción sur del Golfo de Ana María, plataforma suroriental cubana, durante el 2002-2010. Se encontró que para las 9 entidades seleccionadas, consideradas representativas dado sus elevados valores de abundancia relativa (85 % de la captura en peso) y frecuencia de aparición en los cruceros, los largos medios oscilaron entre 10.7-25.1 cm, con una talla media general de 14.4 cm, panorama indicativo de que el grueso de la ictiofauna en la captura incidental de camarón está integrada por especies de mediano a pequeño tamaño. El escenario general de largos en las mediciones individuales mostró un intervalo algo mayor, entre 8.0-31.0 cm, con la cifra más baja para la mojarra (Gerres cinereus) y la más elevada para el lagarto (Synodus foetens). Se contrastaron estadísticamente los largos medios de las diferentes especies, observándose diferencias significativas entre ellas (p<0.001). En general se apreció un comportamiento con pocas variaciones en los largos medios durante el período, con una tendencia a la estabilidad, concluyéndose que el patrón o estructura de tallas de las entidades de peces más relevantes en la captura incidental no ha cambiado a lo largo de nueve años
