Abstract

The present study was carried out to define a practical method to use in the shrimps farmers to minimize the dumps of Sodium Metabisulfite solution (MBS, in Spanish) used in the chemical treatment of shrimp cultured Litopenaeus vannamei during the crop, to the environment, reactivating the used solutions. Tests with different solutions of MBS to different concentrations were carried out, and variations of concentrations in 1% were determinated by means of a salinometer. Chart was elaborated with the reactivations dosages of the solutions keeping in mind the purity of chemical agent employed. Minimization of dump, chemical treatment, Sodium Metabisulfite, reactivation
