Evaluaciones hidroacústicas de merluza común, año 2006

Abstract

Este documento contiene el informe final del proyecto FIP 2006-03, realizado por el Instituto de Fomento Pesquero como unidad ejecutora y el Instituto de Investigación Pesquera de la Octava Región S.A. como subcontratada. El objetivo general del proyecto fue evaluar el stock de la merluza común (Merluccius gayi gayi) y estimar las características biológicas, pesqueras y oceanográficas relevantes del recurso. Metodológicamente, se realizaron dos cruceros de prospección, uno entre el 6 de abril y el 17 de mayo y el otro desde el 10 de julio al 19 de agosto del 2006, ambos cubrieron una zona de aprox. 13.000 millas náuticas cuadradas que correspondieron al área de la plataforma continental entre las latitudes 29º 10’ S y los 42º 00’ S y desde la costa hasta el veril de los 500 metros de profundidad. Dentro de cada crucero se efectuaron 78 transectas de muestreo acústico, 95 y 83 estaciones oceanográficas y 143 y 134 lances de pesca de identificación en los cruceros de otoño e invierno, respectivamente.
