The aim of the analysis was to assess the extent of alignment of the three media laws in Serbia with the European Media Freedom Act (EMFA). The main conclusion of this analysis is that the three media laws contain some provisions aligned with EMFA, while the core issue lies in the inadequate implementation of these laws in practice. Valid expertise, institutional independence as well as clear political will to align media laws with EMFA and ensure proper implementation, are crucial for this process to be truly successful in an EU candidate country.
