
This chapter presents a review of the national and international literature on the subject of silicosis. Epidemiological, pathological, diagnostic and pulmonary function aspects are discussed. The clinical classification and methods of treating silicosis are reviewed, as are other silicarelated diseases such as tuberculosis, lung cancer and scleroderma. Prevention and medical-legal aspects are also discussed.
